The First Year

It has been an exciting week. We celebrated Dylan's first birthday a few days early on Sunday with Aunty Sarah and Grandma and Grandpa Osberg. Dylan likes his new toys - a bead maze and a dump truck. He even knows how to make the tray on the dump truck lift up and tip all the goodies out the back. Because Dylan is GF, DF, RF...we opted for a little "cake" made from avocado, banana and blueberries, some of his favorite foods. I myself was very pleased with how it turned out.

I was a little emotional on Dylan's actual birthday as I thought back to the birth and how much he has changed since he came into this world.

We also had what I consider to be his first real steps (in the past month we have had some step step and sit downs). We were at ECFE on Tuesday (15th Feb) and he walked from one table to another and then to the wall and then to another table - each journey being more than two steps. He hasn't showed off these skills to much since then but he has been busy busy pushing his walking toy up and down the hallway.

The weather has been nice this week so we headed out to the park on Dylan's birthday to do some swinging. We went on the slide and the swing and the teeter-totter and then we did it all over again, and again. On Thursday he proved just how much he likes to be outside. Dylan gathered his hat and made for the door leading into the garage. So we headed out into the misty rain for a walk and some swinging at the park. He just loves to swing.

On another note I am sending thanks to my mother for bringing me into the world and raising three domestic goddesses (strong women who have careers, can cook, sew, garden and have a can do attitude). Thanks mum!
