Dia del Visitante y Semana de la mascota

In January Dylan's school has Pet week. Each day a pet comes to visit the class. Here are some of the photos from when Santi's turtle came to visit.

They also have a monthly 'Dia del visitante' where a parent comes to school and tells the children about their career or does an activity with the children. One of the parents got a pilot to come visit the class!

Christmas in Minnesota

It was a short but eventful trip. After some drama at the airport in Mexico (I am still holding a grudge against the lady at the checkin counter for AeroMexico, and her supervisor) we boarded our flight to Atlanta. The lovely lady at the re-check counter in Atlanta made our day when she found the orginal Atlanta-Minneapolis flights in just a couple of minutes and cancelled the tickets that we had booked after the previously mentioned person couldn't find them. So we made it....

First up getting some snow time in. Some members of the family enjoyed this more than others.

We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas meal at Jeff and Kris's with the extended family and a visit from Santa. Both Dylan and Carter were not really happy about sitting on Santa's lap.

Zihuatanejo

After our quick trip to Minnesota for Christmas we need to hit the beach to defrost. We rented a condo in Zihuatanejo. Downtown was a short walk away. The beach just a block. ~Piñata's for New Years. These families come, set up temporary camp and make and sell their piñatas. They were gone almost immediately after New Years.

Our condo had these on the entry-ways to the bathrooms. Reminded me of swimming at Uncle Rodney's house when I was little.

A little bit of New Zealand in Zihuatanejo

I found this while I was wandering around Zihuatanejo. It was closed. photo IMG_0941_zps6101b9bc.jpg
