Knees and Ties

This is what Dylan's knees look like these days.....

Do we have a fashionista in the making? Dylan certainly seems to think that Daddy's belt makes a great neck accessory.

By the way, he was not told to check himself out in the mirror.

Memorial Day Out

We ended up at Bread and Pickle for dinner on Memorial Day.  The sun was out and the breeze was warm and welcome.  Dylan had a super time cruising around the bandshell and lake shore.  I call it cruising because the speed at which he was moving could not be described as walking or running although there certainly was a kind of speed in the way he moved from one interesting place to another.  There was so much to look at; boats, planes, bicycles, dogs, children, birds.  Sure there would have been lots of pictures but we didn't have the camera so here is one just for a taste of the day.

Gardening

Dylan really likes to get into the dirt especially if it is wet dirt.

Farmers Market

On Sunday (29 May) we headed to Kingfield Farmers Market. We would like to tell you that we were shopping for veges for our dinner but really (let's be honest) the Chef Shack was calling to us.

We had the sweet potato tacos and the pulled pork nachos from the Chef Shack and a little beet falafel from the Foxy Falafel stand. Yum!

Dylan got a balloon.

Daddy and Dylan's Big Day Out.

So it is that time of the year where my skills at procrastinating catch up with me and I am in a mad rush trying to complete my continuing education hours before the deadline.  Matt being the super husband that he is offered me a full day to get some credits completed.  He then removed any distractions by taking Dylan to the Children's Museum.  They had a great time and here are some more phone pictures to prove it.  Naturally Dylan loved the bubbles!

Enjoying the sunny weather

Dylan enjoyed a bit of gardening and some fooling around in the backyard with Mama and Daddy.
Gardening. There was also a little dirt throwing and maybe some eating too.

Reading with Daddy

There is nothing like a little reading time especially when you get to snuggle with Daddy at the same time.

Things that go...

Dylan really likes the new tractor that he got from Grandma.  In fact he likes anything that goes.

Getting a taste for Rhubarb

Dylan tried a little fresh rhubarb while we unpacked our CSA delivery for the week.  He decided it wasn't so great.

Dandelions and Cats..

Monday was a beautiful day.  Sunny and warm with just the right amount of breeze.
It was bring your soft toy to music day.  Dylan took his baby monkey but was more interested in someone else's soft cat.  So in the afternoon we wandered up the street hoping to find one of the friendly neighborhood cats to say hello to.  Just when we thought the cats were busy doing something else one came out to see us.  Dylan had fun patting the kitty and picking dandelion flowers from the neighbor's lawn (I don't think the neighbor will miss the dandelions, they have more dandelions than grass over there).

May Days

There is nothing quite like waking up to rain on the roof and thunder rumbling around.  The feeling of being snuggly, warm and dry while outside everything is wet, blissful.  That is how we started Monday.  I ended the day thinking about how vivid, brilliant and bright the colors of nature are at this time of year when the grass is finally green again, the leaves are popping, the magnolias are waving their delicate flowers in the breeze.

Dylan got to visit Grandpa at the dental office so Mama could get a couple of sensitive teeth checked out.  Dylan was a bit scared of Grandpa after seeing him in his white coat and glasses but he was okay with lying on my lap while I got checked out.

Tuesday was a real warm up.  Dylan and I headed outside for a little bit of gardening and more bubble blowing.  Not a day goes by when he doesn't ask to blow bubbles.  Later on we played with water on a baking tray.

Thursday Matt took the day off so I could do whatever I wanted.  This actually was getting all the "stuff" on my lists done although I considered playing scrabble on my phone and a movie for a brief time. Dylan helped Daddy change the screen door.

Matt thought Dylan's outfit for the day looked a little yogi so he rolled out my mat and they did a few poses.

On Sunday we enjoyed the nice weather. Dylan checked out the lawnmower, did some bubble blowing, and played with Daddy's stash of washers, hinges and things.
