This is Dylan eating nectarines and trying out the rolling pin while waiting for his GF pizza.
We started the weekend off with a great meal created from our CSA box. The dish was inspired by a recipe in an earlier newsletter. It involved:
- sauteing onions, garlic scapes, kohlrabi, white turnips and some cubed potatoes
- adding a little chicken stock and a can of coconut milk
- simmering until the veges started to soften
- adding the greens from the turnips and kohlrabi
- serving with feta and spinach sausages.
Yum! Dylan agreed.
On Saturday morning we hit the Fulton Farmers Market. Dylan cruised around the market stopping briefly to listen to the live music. We ordered a bison burger and the hangover hash (although nobody was sporting a hangover) from the Chef Shack. The hangover hash was amazing. This was followed up with a Rhubarb Turnover from Sunstreet Breads. While we were at the market we saw our friends Bridgette, Bart, Oz, and Bennett. Bridgette and I organised a play-date for Dylan and Oz. Then we bumped into Robyn and Miles who were on a quest for strawberries so Miles could have Strawberry Shakes at his sleepover. I had just finished telling Matt how much I liked markets for the community that they build when we saw the Norman Family arriving. We said hello and chatted briefly before heading home to get Dylan down for a nap.
Dylan likes to sit in the chair and read - all by himself.
In the afternoon we went to Mason's Birthday Party. In the evening Grandma looked after Dylan so we could go out. We had planned to try Tilia but for the second time the wait for a table was too much so we ended up at Cave Vin followed by a little soft serve ice cream at Pizzeria Lola.
On Sunday we headed to Armatage Park for a little paddle in the pool. Dylan had great fun.
Catching up with Grandma before going to bed (this consists of smiling and listening).
