Pillow Corner

Dylan has a new reading place in his bedroom which we call "The Nest". It has lots of pillows. Dylan decided it would be fun to pillow himself into a corner of the playroom with all the balls he could find and throw them out at us. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Early Posada

At the beginning of December the Newcomers Club had an early posada party. I think I wrote about this last year but... Essentially Las Posadas is a nine day celebration beginning on December 16. The nine days represent the nine months of Mary's pregnancy with Jesus. Typically what happens is one group of participants calls at each house (or at the "inn-keepers group) asking for lodging via a song, the other group, the residents respond. Eventually Mary and Joseph are allowed entry. The event is then celebrated with a meal and often a pinata in the shape of a 7 pointed star. The seven points represent the seven deadly sins. The Newcomers party had food, games for the kids, a pinata and we attempted to sing the song. Dylan was most excited about the pinata, although when the time came for him to have a turn he needed a little encouragement.

Random stuff...

~ A family picture.  For weeks we had to line up against the wall and race matchbox cars.  Dylan would allocate a car to you (no you don't get to choose your own!) and fortunately would collect the cars after the race.

Captain America

Captain America, Superman, Spiderman ...cape is a bonus but what he really likes is running laps around the living room furniture. Most of the time he goes so fast all I get is blur.Capital America Photobucket

Sayulita

In early November we went to Sayulita for a week of sun, sand and surf.  The surf was a request from Matt, who said that he had to have a week surfing in Sayulita while we are living in Mexico (it would be wrong not to).  We rented a place on the beach using vacation rentals by owner.  The place was great!  It was in a little complex right on the beach with a pool.  The place we rented was right at the front so we had a great view of the beach.  We had a little problem with gas supply but it was warm enough that it didn't matter that we had cold showers for the first couple of days.  Also we have been living in Mexico long enough to say 'well, we could have worse problems'.

On our way to Sayulita from Puerto Vallarta we stopped at the supermarket to stock up - Matt ended up doing this by himself as Dylan had already fallen asleep on me.

~ At the Sayulita weekend market. There was a great selection of prepared food and drink and some fresh fruit and vegetables for those that wanted to make their own thing.

~ Mexican Food Truck (kind of). It was a little trailer parked across the street from our place. We ate their for lunch and dinner a couple of times.

~Post popsicle face. This was the chocolate coconut one from the market. We also had some great popsicles in town...I may have even gone to town a couple of times under the guise of shopping just to get a passion-fruit popsicle.
Photobucket We may have also had churros almost every night after dinner - but there is no evidence to prove it!
