Today we were driving home from school and as we approached the gates to our complex I asked Dylan about the inflatable snowman outside and who was with the snowman (Santa, of course!). Anyway he breaks into Spanish (here I wish I had been able to record this but you will have to make do with my recollection and best effort at writing out the Spanish) and says:
"Santa va a la casa de Dylan. Tiene juguetes. Todos. Todo por Dylan."
Essentially 'Santa is going to Dylan's house. He has toys. All toys for Dylan.
At which point Juan the driver (who this conversation was obviously aimed at) asks Dylan "¿Cómo va a venir Papá no tiene una chimenea?"
'How will Santa come in, you don't have a chimney?'
There was a long pause before Dylan responded with something that translated to 'Daddy gave Santa a set of keys'.
Almost daily I am blown away by the amount of Spanish Dylan speaks, it makes me smile to hear it. Mama wishes it was so easy for her.
that is awesome, I guess we will have to learn some too before we (hopefully) come over in August!
